On the evening of April 29, the school of Resources and Environmental Engineering held an exchange meeting on studying abroad experience of Laurenson University in Canada in room 12D1, Mingde building, golden campus. Zeng peng, deputy director of mining engineering teaching and research office of the college, zhang jiyong, instructor and more than 100 students from related majors were present to attend. Xu chong briefly explained the differences between Laurenson University in Canada and domestic universities in terms of academic studies and cultural life, as well as the "2+2" credit recognition project between our university and Laurenson University. He also showed the students how to do part-time jobs and live on campus in Canada. Xu Shared his views on the three problems that students are most worried about when they go abroad: poor English, heavy study and high cost. He explained that English will not become a stumbling block to study abroad. At Laurenson University, English learning is diversified. IELITS and TOEFL do not reach the corresponding scores, and formal English learning objectives and requirements can be achieved through EAP learning. In terms of academic performance, he pointed out that the main difference between Lawrenson University in Canada and domestic universities is that the final result is usually study and practice. While studying, students can accumulate learning experience and strengthen team spirit through network platform and research papers. Daily expenses can be covered by a part-time job, and students can use a school-issued campus card to travel by bus for free. He said that he cherished and satisfied the life of studying abroad in the past two years, which also provided more opportunities for his future development. He also answered the students' questions carefully. Zeng peng hopes that the students can broaden their international vision, encourage them to know more about the policies of studying abroad, pay more attention to the opportunities and projects of our school to go abroad, and set up more ambitious goals.
