Recently, the geological teacher and student team of our college published a paper entitled "new discovery of small dinosaur egg fossils in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province" in the 192nd issue of fossils. Wen Xiujuan, a 2018 geological engineering undergraduate, was the first author, and Feng Liang, the instructor, was the corresponding author. This paper introduces the preliminary research results of the dinosaur egg fossils, such as the shape characteristics and the microstructure of the eggshell.

The dinosaur egg fossils were discovered by the team when they were working in the field in Panlong Town, Ganzhou City. Through comparative analysis of the occurrence rules and burial characteristics of dinosaur fossils in Ganzhou basin, it was found that the egg fossils excavated this time belong to the longiform egg family. In addition, the size of the dinosaur egg is slightly larger than the smallest dinosaur egg in the Guinness world record. According to available information, it is the smallest dinosaur egg excavated in China. This discovery enriches the dinosaur egg species and provides a reference for the study of small dinosaur egg fossils and the evolution of dinosaurs to modern birds.

It is reported that in the late Cretaceous period of Ganzhou basin, its paleoclimate environment was a closed semi closed inland lake lacustrine sedimentary environment under a hot and dry climate, which made it rich in dinosaur egg fossils and made Ganzhou one of the most abundant areas in China to excavate dinosaur eggs.
