On November 19, our college held an introduction and exchange meeting on mining engineering (Sino-foreign Cooperation in Running School) project in the second conference room of Yifu Building in the Golden Campus. The exchange meeting was hosted by Cao Zijun, a 2015 alumnus of our mining engineering (Sino-foreign Cooperation in Running School) and a graduate of Lawrence University in Canada. Teachers, counselors, head teachers and all undergraduates related to the mining engineering (Sino-foreign Cooperation in Running School) project participated in the exchange meeting. The exchange meeting was chaired by Wang Shi, secretary of the mining engineering party branch.
Cao Zijun introduced the professional background, project content, project advantages, etc. of Lawrence University in Canada in detail, and explained the online teaching system and operation demonstration of Lawrence University for teachers and students based on his own learning experience in Lawrence University.
Wang Shi had an in-depth exchange with the teachers present at the meeting on the current problems in English teaching in Sino-Foreign Joint Class, and proposed to optimize the content of English courses, adjust the order of courses appropriately, and replace some English courses in the light of China's national conditions. At the meeting, we also discussed the role of domestic and foreign courses in promoting students' employment, and put forward corresponding plans and measures.
Zhong Wen, Chen Qinglin and other teachers proposed relevant problems in teaching from the aspects of differences in teaching materials, software application and the focus of mining teaching at home and abroad, and jointly analyzed and discussed the teaching direction of mining engineering (Sino-foreign Cooperation in Running School) and the optimization and innovation of teaching methods.
Wang Shi hopes that in the teaching process, teachers should add innovative ideas, jump out of the traditional teaching framework, increase practical requirements, attach importance to students' English achievements, and improve students' practical ability.
