On December 6, consul Wu Long of consulate general of Canada in Guangzhou and Serge Demers vice President of Lawrenson University of Canada visited our university. Our school held a symposium in the first meeting room of the administration building. Vice President Gong yaoteng and relevant functional departments and heads of the school attended the symposium. Gong extended his warm welcome to Long Wu and Serge Demers and expressed his sincere appreciation to both parties for their efforts to achieve the successful approval of the project. He said that our school is rooted in southern Jiangxi and has unique resource advantages in tungsten, copper, rare earth, aluminum, new energy and other fields. It has built strong discipline chains such as mining engineering, metallurgical engineering, material science and engineering, mechatronics, information technology and formed four characteristics and advantages of comprehensive development and utilization of tungsten, copper, rare earth and lithium resources. Gong yaoteng stressed that the 4+0 undergraduate program of mining engineering in cooperation with Laurenson University of Canada is the first sino-foreign cooperative education undergraduate program approved by the ministry of education of our university. The sino-foreign cooperative program has greatly promoted the exchange and sharing of high-quality educational resources and the mutual learning of management experience between two schools. It is also conducive to the cultivation of international teaching teachers and the broadening of students' international horizon of our university, which is of great significance to the promotion of the international education level of our university. Long Wu elaborated on the visa conditions, fingerprint collection and entry validity of the cooperative project. He expressed his hope to establish a long-term cooperative relationship with our university, so as to establish a good information channel for the cooperation between Chinese and Canadian universities and strengthen bilateral exchanges. Serge Demers said that in the United States, Canada and Australia, the employment prospects of mining engineering graduates are good. He is very glad to carry out exchanges and cooperation with our university and hopes that this cooperation will yield more benefits.
It is understood that the Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools project is a breakthrough, international exchanges and cooperation, resources and environmental engineering colleges and Lawrenson University of Canada is 4 + 0 cooperation of mining engineering undergraduate specialty repeated proof, syllabus, curriculum, credit transfer, high quality teaching resources, the introduction of items such as the docking, form a scientific system of the declaration materials submitted to the Jiangxi province education department and the Ministry of Education, and repeatedly reported to the competent department of education in our school held the necessity and feasibility of the Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools project, finally by the Ministry of Education of 26 indicators in the form of censorship, the essence of the 39 indexes content review and expert review. After four years of unremitting efforts, the 4+0 undergraduate program of mining engineering has become the first sino-foreign cooperative education undergraduate program approved by the ministry of education of our university, making a historic breakthrough in the sino-foreign cooperative education program of our university. The program enrolled 51 students for the first time this year.
