On March 15th, the laboratory safety management experience exchange meeting held by the Office of Academic Affairs and organized by our college was held in the conference room one, Yifu Building, Golden Campus. Chen Fei, the vice president of our institute, and the responsible persons in charge of laboratory safety, such as the teaching affairs office, the school security office, all colleges and research platforms, attended the meeting.

Jia Hongyu, director of the Laboratory Safety Management Department of the Academic Affairs Office of JXUST, expressed his gratitude for the meticulous preparation of our college and the arrival of all teachers. And then, he introduced the background of the exchange meeting and emphasized the importance of laboratory safety management.

Chen Fei briefly introduced some achievements of the laboratory safety management of our college, and hoped that suggestions on the shortcomings could be put forward.

At the meeting, combined with its own laboratory management experience, deputy director of Department of Environment and Biology, Director of mineral Materials and Environmental Remediation Laboratory Luo Wuhui shared from the following five aspects: purchase, use and disposal of hazardous chemicals; the purchase, use and disposal of daily consumables; equipment purchase, use, disposal; establishment of rules and regulations; establishment of rules and regulations. In addition, he showed some of his practices in managing the laboratory, including setting up a material record book, placing and naming liquid separation tanks to save scrap costs, and avoiding cross-use of laboratory instruments. Also, he suggested standardizing student behavior and establishing a more comprehensive system.

After the meeting, the participants also visited the laboratory in charge of Luo to further discuss and exchange laboratory management experience.
