Recently, the final of the 16th National College Student Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Technology Competition came to an end at Southeast University. This competition implements the theme of "energy conservation and emission reduction, green energy". Since its launch, the main competition has attracted more than 50000 teachers and students from 638 universities in 31 provinces (cities, autonomous regions) across China to participate. 6852 valid works have been submitted, and the number of participating universities, works applied for, and participants have all set a new record high. Our school has won the National Third Prize for 5 works and the "Excellent Organization Award".

Zhao Yincong and other students from the School of Energy and Mechanical Engineering won the third prize in the category of scientific and technological works for their work "Gathering Sand into a Tower - Pioneer of New Energy Vehicle Driving Waste Energy Capture and Storage Technology" (guided by Qi Fangwei and Shuai Cijun); Ge Haoran and other students from the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering wrote a research report on the current situation of solid waste reduction in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, based on the background of "dual carbon", and Bai Yun and other students from the School of Law wrote a simulation study on the impact of bamboo grass on building energy consumption in roof greening Wu Linyue and other students from the School of Marxism's "Qingjian Zhiqing - Issues and Countermeasures of Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Awareness among Young Students under the" Double Carbon "Strategy" (mentors: Chen Zhenyu, Zhang Xiao), and Jiao Qinghao and other students from the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering's "Copper Heart Cooperation - Research on the Impact of Western Copper Mine Resource Development on the Ecological Environment" (mentors: Qiu Xianhui, Zhang Chunju) won the third prize in the social practice survey category.

It is reported that the National College Student Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Technology Competition is organized by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and the Teaching Guidance Committee for Energy and Power Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education. It has become a national college student competition with high starting point, large scale, multiple high-quality products, wide coverage, guidance, demonstration, and mass participation. This competition closely revolves around the national "dual carbon policy", national energy and environmental policies, and combines with major national needs to implement important measures of the national "energy-saving and emission reduction national action plan", fully reflecting and fitting the theme of "energy-saving and emission reduction, green energy", and focusing on cultivating the innovative ability and collaborative spirit of college students.
