Recently, Professor Chen Fei from our college's "Geotechnical Engineering Survey" course was launched on the "Xinhua Ideological and Political Education - National College Curriculum Ideological and Political Education Resource Service" platform on Xinhua Net, open to the whole society for sharing.
Geotechnical Engineering Survey is a core professional course for undergraduate majors in geological engineering, with strong theoretical and practical significance. It is an interdisciplinary subject that combines geology and engineering. Geotechnical engineering survey is an important link in the technical system of geotechnical engineering, and is the first basic work carried out in engineering construction. The course systematically introduces the basic principles, methods, and techniques of geotechnical engineering survey. According to the requirements of different survey stages of buildings or structures, geological data and necessary technical parameters are provided for the design, construction, reinforcement, excavation support, and precipitation of geotechnical engineering, and relevant geotechnical engineering problems are demonstrated and evaluated. After studying the course, students are required to learn how to use principles, methods, and technical means such as engineering geological surveying, engineering drilling, and geotechnical testing to analyze and evaluate geotechnical engineering problems.
In the teaching process of the "Geotechnical Engineering Survey" major, by integrating socialist core values and excellent traditional Chinese cultural education, we cultivate students' patriotism, establish a sense of rule of law, enhance their sense of social responsibility and mission, cultivate their spirit of hard work and dedication, and enable them to form a positive, law-abiding, honest and trustworthy spirit. Before each class, use chalk to silently write an ancient poem or inspirational quote on the blackboard and explain it to students. Create a total of 52 hidden head poems as a summary of the class.
The course 'Geotechnical Engineering Survey' has also been awarded as the 2020 Jiangxi Province Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Course, the 2020 Jiangxi Province First Class Undergraduate Course, and the 2020 Jiangxi Province University Curriculum Education Shared Course. It was also awarded the special prize in the 2022 Smart Tree Cup Curriculum Ideological and Political Case Teaching Competition.
