On the morning of August 19th, the opening ceremony of the summer camp for students of Confucius Institute at University of the Punjab (CIPU) was held in Ganzhou city. More than 20 students of CIPU gathered together for a wonderful journey on Chinese language and culture. Mr. Liu Zuwen, Vice President of JXUST and Mr. Liu Chensheng, Chinese Director of CIPU attended and addressed the ceremony. Mr. Cai Jinbao, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of JXUST, hosted the ceremony.
The ceremony was celebrated with performances of martial arts, calligraphy, Chinese painting, group dance, solo and so on. Those activities deepened exchanges in culture and arts between China and Pakistan. In the ensuing days, the campers would go through lecture series on Chinese, music, paper-cutting, calligraphy, martial arts, tea-picking opera, painting and so on. Moreover, the campers would be provided with off-campus experience. The campers would be offered in-city visits to Ganzhou Museum, Hakka Culture City (a complex displaying typical elements of Hakka), Old City Wall of Song Dynasty, exposing the campers to profound traditional Chinese culture, especially Hakka culture.
