On April 15th, our college held a symposium, exchange, and book gift ceremony for the 69th mining alumni Cheng Zongjin and Zhu Xiusheng returning to their alma mater in the first conference room of Yifu Building in the Golden Campus. Our dean He Guichun, deputy secretary of the party committee Rao Xianfa, deputy dean Chen Fei, as well as relevant teachers and student representatives from the School of Engineering, Teaching Office, and Mining Engineering Department attended the ceremony.
Cheng Zongjin shared with the attendees some interesting experiences during his inspection of Ganjiang, Poyang Lake, Yangtze River, and other places, with every word full of love for the mountains and waters of Jiangxi. When talking about things that made him proud, he said that in order to ensure the accuracy of the books, he would often repeatedly climb a mountain three or four times and read a large amount of information for comparison. Cheng Zongjin stated that people should have spiritual pursuits, and the purpose of publishing books is not for profit, but for love, a love for life, mountains, and water.
Zhu Xiusheng shared his work experience at a tungsten mining company and the tungsten industry association. He said that major is fundamental and can only be applied when learned well. Many times, the answers to the problems encountered in work are often found in the professional books of the school. He emphasized that as long as the foundation is solid, thinking will be integrated into the bloodstream. After forming their own thinking system and learning methods, they can also do well in various industries, not only in their professional fields.
