Professor Tao Dongping, “Changjiang Scholar” and Dean of School of Resources and Environment of Shandong University of Technology, came to our university for exchange
On the morning of May 11th, Tao Dongping, Dean of School of Resources and Environmental Engineering of Shandong University of Technology and Special Professor of “Changjiang Scholar” of the Ministry of Education, Li Ming, Executive Dean of Shandong University of Technology, Sun Rongtao, Vice Dean of Shandong University, and Liu Xiao, Assistant Dean of Shandong University of Technology, visited the university for communication and held a symposium in conference room two of Yifu building. Dean He Guichun, Party Secretary Chen Ming, Deputy Party Secretary Rao Xianfa, Vice Dean Chen Fei, Assistant Dean Yu Xinyang and principals of various departments participated in the exchange.
At the meeting, the participants watched the propaganda video of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. He Guichun extended a warm welcome to Tao Dongping and his delegation. Then she briefly introduced the development history, discipline characteristics, scientific research advantages and talent cultivation of the university and the college.
Tao Dongping said that the our two universities, especially the our two schools, are highly similar in the subject setup. Jiangxi University of Science and Technology has formed its own advantages and characteristics, which is worthy of Shandong University of Technology to learn in the aspects of talent introduction, discipline construction, school-enterprise linkage and so on. “JXUST has set us a particularly excellent example. At present, the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering of our university is in the stage of development, but I believe that as long as we work hard, the temporary lag will be filled in the future.” Tao added.
Afterwards, the participants had in-depth discussions and exchanges, and discussed the common problems faced by the two universities in order to find solutions. Finally, the two sides reached a consensus on the recruitment of talents and other aspects. Both universities need to introduce more and better high-quality talents, expand horizontal cooperation and improve vertical level, so as to build a more solid foundation for the future development of both universities.
