On June 11th, completed by Anhui Lujiang Longqiao Mining Co., Ltd. and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology jointly, an evaluation meeting of scientific and technological achievements of the project “Precision Grinding Technology and Its Industrial Application in Multi-stage Grinding Process of Iron Ore” is organized to hold with relevant experts by Metallurgical Mine’s Association of China through video conference in Beijing. The Advisory Committee of Experts on Evaluation consists of 7 members, including Academician Sun Chuanyao and Academician Song Shaoxian.
The project initiated the new technology and method of using porcelain ball and steel ball as grinding medium in the regrinding process of magnetic separation coarse concentrate and all porcelain ball as grinding medium in the regrinding process of copper-sulfur coarse concentrate, which solved the grinding process problems such as high-power consumption, high steel consumption, over-crushing and iron pollution. A new process of recovering fine associated copper-sulfur minerals by pre-discarding of gravity and magnetic separator combined with fine screen was developed, which solved the technical problem of large loss of copper-sulfur minerals in pre-discarding of copper-sulfur magnetite and improved the processing capacity and grinding efficiency of ball mill.
After three years’ engineering application in Longqiao Iron Ore Concentrator, the overall technology has achieved great energy saving in cost reduction and efficiency increase in grinding, promoting the technological progress of grinding in the industry, and creating remarkable economic, social and environmental benefits. The evaluation expert committee believes that the achievement has reached the international leading level.
