Recently, the Wisdom Tree Institute of Higher Education held a series of teaching development sharing "Teacher Talk" and "University Teacher Informatization Teaching Ability Improvement". Professor Chen Fei, Vice Dean of our school, was invited to give an online lecture on "Practice and Exploration of Ideological and Political Education in and out of Classroom Courses".
In the lecture, Chen Fei introduced his main experience and practices in the ideological and political teaching of courses, namely, deeply exploring the characteristic ideological and political elements of geological courses such as "three special ideological and political elements, historical and humanistic ideological and political elements, red ideological and political elements, ecological and engineering ideological and political elements", organically combining professional knowledge points with ideological and political elements, promoting the application of modern information technology in the ideological and political teaching of courses, in order to open up the second classroom of extracurricular ideological and political practice, Achieve the integration of science and education.
Chen Fei introduced the design process of teaching methods using the course "Geological Disaster Prevention" as an example. By citing various professional related cases such as "The Army's Rescue of Debris Flow Disaster in Malipo County, Yunnan Province" and "The Lengmugou Debris Flow Control Project in Baoxing County, Sichuan Province", he has educated students on the "Four Confidence" and core socialist values of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Since entering school, he has insisted on writing ancient poems or inspirational quotes on the blackboard before class to explain them to students, playing musical instruments for students during recess, and summarizing hidden head poems after class, so that students can receive education in China's excellent traditional culture through exposure.
After class, he focuses on practical teaching and ideological and political education. Through extracurricular practical activities such as internships and training, he provides students with labor education, science frontier education, field work spirit education, and other aspects of education. While consolidating the professional foundation, he cultivates the students' will to work hard. He encourages students to actively participate in teacher projects and integrate theoretical knowledge learned in class in practice.
In his daily life, he cares about and cares for students, often at his own expense, buys fruits for interns, subsidizes class fees, subsidizes students with financial difficulties, and even cheers for postgraduate students for 13 consecutive years, truly achieving moral education and self-discipline.
Chen Fei said that ideological and political education should focus on the refinement and improvement of teaching, ensure the improvement of the level of interpretation and the sublimation of teaching content in the classroom, and strengthen the correct guidance of students' thinking in their learning and life.
Chen Fei, a member of the Communist Party of China, is the vice president, professor, and master's supervisor of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering of Jiangxi University of Technology, and the professional leader of geological engineering at the national first-class undergraduate professional construction site.
