Recently, under the guidance of the China Mining Federation, the China Nonferrous Metals Society, and the China Coal Society, the "2023 China Mineral Processing Conference (CMPC)" jointly hosted by Mining and Metallurgical Technology Group Co., Ltd., China Youyan Technology Group Co., Ltd., Beijing University of Science and Technology, China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), and the Council of China Mineral Processing Conference was held at the Beijing International Conference Center. The conference, with the theme of "green, intelligent, shared, and innovative", aims to explore new trends in the development of mineral processing technology in China and the new achievements achieved under the background of new development concepts, providing a valuable exchange opportunity for further promoting the sustainable development of mineral processing professionals in China.
Sun Chuanyao, Chairman of the Council of China Mineral Processing Congress, 2023 China Mineral Processing Congress, and academician of the CAE Member, Peng Qiming, Chairman of the China Mining Federation, Zhang Hongguo, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the China Nonferrous Metals Society, Liu Feng, Vice Chairman of the China Coal Industry Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the China Coal Association, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Mineral Processing Congress of Mining and Metallurgy Technology Group Co., Ltd Han Long, Chairman of the 2023 China Mineral Processing Conference, and others attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Several academicians, including Qiu Guanzhou, Gui Weihua, Ge Shirong, Shen Zhengchang, Jiang Tao, and other academicians of the CAE Member, as well as more than 1600 delegates from various universities, mineral processing equipment manufacturers, mining enterprises, and scientific research and design institutes across the country, attended the conference. They conducted in-depth discussions and frank exchanges on cutting-edge issues in China's mineral processing foundation and application research, and put forward future development suggestions and key research directions.
In order to enhance the influence of the discipline and accelerate the construction of a first-class discipline in mining engineering at our school, Luo Xianping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our school, Qiu Tingsheng, Executive Dean of the International Innovation Research Institute, He Guichun, Dean of our school, Wu Caibin, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and more than 30 teachers and students majoring in mineral processing engineering attended the conference and gave more than 10 academic presentations. Professor Luo Xianping shared the academic report on "Progress in Mineral Processing Technology of Lead Zinc Sulfide Ores in China", Professor Qiu Ting brought an academic report titled "Research Progress in Differential Oxidation Flotation Separation of Copper Molybdenum Sulfide Ores", and Professor He Guichun gave an academic report titled "Effects of Gemini Surfactant as a Collector on the Flotation Behavior of Manganese Ore, Calcite, and Magnesite". In addition, more than 10 teachers and students, including Professor Wu Caibin and Professor Kuang Jingzhong, also gave relevant academic reports. The enthusiasm of the teachers and students in the mineral processing engineering major at our school, their academic reporting level, and the achievements made in the discipline in recent years have been highly recognized by the attending peers and experts.
The conference also awarded the "2023 China Mineral Processing Excellent Youth Paper Award", which was awarded to Dr. Yu Wen from the Mineral Processing Engineering Department of our university and 20 young talents from various universities, research institutes, and enterprises.
During the conference, teachers and students in the field of mineral processing engineering at our school had close academic exchanges with fellow scholars, experts, manufacturers, and some alumni, jointly analyzing the opportunities and challenges currently faced, and exploring how to accelerate technological innovation in the field of mineral processing under the new situation. Through the exchange at this mineral processing conference, we have fully broadened our academic horizons, shared academic achievements, and contributed to accelerating the intelligent transformation and upgrading of mining construction, promoting the efficient development and comprehensive utilization of mineral resources in China, and promoting scientific and technological progress in the mining and metallurgical industry. At the same time, we have further enhanced the international influence of our school's mineral processing engineering major.
